1 ½ C. powered sugar

1 C. butter or margarine (soften at room temperature)

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 tsp. almond extract

2 ½ C. unsifted flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cream of tartar

ICING:

2 C. powdered sugar

2 T. butter or margarine

1 egg white

pinch of salt

1 tsp. almond extract

food coloring and sprinkles (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Chill dough for 2 hours. Roll to desired thickness and use favorite cookie cutters. Bake at 350º for 7-10 minutes. ICING: Combine all ingredients. It is best to ice the cookies while they are still warm.
