1 c. sugar
¼ c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. unpeeled shredded apples
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. salt
½ c. chopped nuts

Pudding Sauce:
½ square butter
½ c. sugar
½ c. light cream
½ tsp. vanilla
dash of nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar & butter, add egg & beat, add apple-stir in sifted dry ingredients.
Add nuts. Bake 350º for 4/5 minutes in 8" square pan.

Pudding Sauce:
Heat over very low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Add ½ tsp. vanilla and dash of nutmeg.
Serve over warm pudding & top sauce with whipped cream.
