1 - 20 oz loaf day-old challah bread, 1" pieces
5 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 c white sugar
4 c whole milk
1 t vanilla
1 t ground nutmeg
1 t ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Spray 9 X 13 baking dish and place bread cubes evenly. Whisk together all other ingredients until combined. Pour carefully over bread and let set for about 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350'. Bake for 45-50 minutes until top is set. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

I have mixed this up the night before, covered it and then refrigerated. Take out of the fridge the next morning about an hour before baking.
Use any kind of bread, and enough to fill the pan. Hotdog and hamburger buns work well . Let the bread set in the pan for a day or so before mixing. Can add raisins, craisins, blueberries, nuts - whatever strikes your fancy.
