2-1/2 cups blackberries, washed
1 cup sugar

1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, stir together the blackberries and 1 cup of sugar. Allow them to sit for 25-30 minutes

Preheat oven to 375º. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt and milk using a wooden spoon. Add in the melted butter and mix by hand until the ingredients are well incorporated and there a few clumps.

Pour batter into a medium-sized baking dish and smooth it out. Baking dish can be lined with parchment paper, but do not grease the pan. Finally, pour the macerated blackberries on top of the batter making sure to include the sugar from the berries. Spread fruit evenly over batter. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour depending on how golden brown you prefer it to be. Let it cook 5 minutes before serving so it will hold its shape.
