Make your own favorite pie crust or buy or use 1 pie crust for the top.

Make sure your crust is cool as it's much easier to work with a cooler crust.
Cut strips the full length of your crust, and I suggest 3/4" wide. Make them as uniform as possible. As you work in your circle, you will trim lengths to what is needed.
