1 ¾ c. warm water
2 T. yeast
1/2 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. mashed potato buds
1/2 T. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 cup oil
4 ½ cups Flour 
2 c. jelly of choice

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine warm water and yeast and wait unit yeast is activated. Add in sugar, salt, and mix.
2. Add in baking powder, lemon juice, vanilla, oil, and mashed potato buds, mix well.
3. Swift in flour and mix until the dough is soft and pastry-like.
4. Cover with a tablecloth and let it rise in a warm area for an hour.
5. Roll out into a large log that is about 2-3 inches in diameter. Then cut off 2-inch pieces.
6. Roll out into a flat pancake about 5-inch diameter and 1/4 inch thickness.
7. Add jelly and pinch together to make one shanga.
8. Let rise 15-20 minutes
9. Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
