1 cup margarine, divided
1 tsp almond flavoring
2 cups flour, divided
3 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ½ cup margarine with 2 tbsp water. Add 1 cup flour, mixing to form dough. Divide in half and spread on cookie sheet in 2 strips, approximately 4 inches wide. Boil 1 cup of water, ½ cup margarine and 1 tsp almond flavoring. Add 1 cup of flour and 3 eggs, one at a time. Spread over dough strips.
Bake for 1 hr at 350º.
When cool, frost with favorite frosting and spread fruit jam down center of pastry.

This was a favorite desert at family gatherings. Aunt Dorothy often brought it in a gift box from Talbot's. Beware if Mark Novak was there and you wanted a piece of that pastry! *Also a reunion favorite.
