Personal Notes:
This is my Great Aunt Margaret's recipe and I have so many fond memories of spending summers with her in the Okanagan Valley.
About 15 years ago, my husband Neil asked me if we had the ingredients to make 50 dozen of these in the house. It took my a while to stop laughing before I replied, "No- of course not!". He is a CFP and wanted to make them for some of his clients. We got the ingredients and together made his 50 dozen.
This started a tradition. Every year, we start in October and fill our chest freezer with these delicious cookies. He then hand delivers a dozen to his top clients. Last year's count was over 115 dozen.
It is a lot of work, usually done over many weekends, listening to Saturday Afternoon at the Opera (my punishment to Neil). They are made with a lot of love.
I hope you enjoy this recipe.
