1 cup Araby butter (see recipe in book)
1 cup powdered sugar
2 to 2 ½ cups flour
½ cup blanched almonds

Directions:
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees

2) Beat butter and sugar thoroughly with a mixer.

3) Add flour gradually and mix well

4) Form small cookies into an S shape, pressing one almond in the center of each. Or roll out dough into long log like shape and cut slanted to form diamonds.

5) Bake for 20 to 25 min, and avoid browning.

You can use regular butter if you can't make the Araby butter, but texture might be a little different.
