Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a combination of two Senate Bean Soup recipes I found on the web and in my 'Joy of Cooking' recipe book. The adding of mashed potatoes may seem odd but if you were the senator from Idaho wanting to push potatoes on his fellow politicians, it makes sense. We like the thickening effect that the mashed potatoes add to normally thin bean soup. It’s great on a cold, rainy winter day.
