Stuffed Cabbage Recipe

2-2 lbs. chopped meat
1 egg
cup cooked white rice
1 large grated onion
salt, pepper & garlic to season

1 large head cabbage

28 oz. tomato sauce
1 can water (28 oz.)
1 heaping cup brown sugar
handful of raisins
cup lemon juice

1 medium onion

Boil cabbage until tender approx. hour.
Let cool and then core cabbage and separate leaves carefully.
Mix together the first 5 ingredients.

Place approx. cup of the meat mixture on the cabbage leaf and roll up.

In a large frying pan mix together the tomato sauce, water, brown sugar raisins and lemon juice.

Thinly slice the onion and place over the bottom of the frying pan.
Cut up all the extra cabbage and place in pan.
Finally, place the cabbage rolls on top of the cut up cabbage.

Cover and cook on the gas range for 2 - 2 hours.

2 cans of cranberry sauce instead of brown sugar

you can freeze the cabbage overnight instead of boiling it
