"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
When you make dumplings be sure your thin gravy or broth is boiling. Dip your spoon in the broth before you dip out dough. Make them about 1 tsp. full at a time. They do raise. Keep them covered about 15 minutes, but turn down the fire or they'll boil over. Keep liquid boiling. It is easier to watch them if you have a glass covered pan to use.
