½ teaspoon pepper
Oil for cooking
2 jars oysters

Directions:
In a frying pan, heat about 3 inches oil to 350 degrees. Mix beer, flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper together to form a batter. Can use less beer if you prefer a thicker batter. Dip oysters into batter, shake off excess and drop into frying pan. Cook until golden brown. Fry in small batches and drain in a napkin lined bowl to remove excess oil. Salt to taste.
