2 lbs beef liver
½ to 1 cup milk
2 sticks butter
1 lg onion, sliced
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon garlic powder
½ tablespoon season salt
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Gently rinse livers under cold water and put in a bowl. Cover livers with milk and let set at least 30 minutes. Melt 1 stick of butter over medium heat in a frying pan. Add onions and saute until tender. Remove from pan and add remaining butter. Mix flour, garlic powder, season salt, salt and pepper together. Turn heat up to medium high, coat liver on both sides with flour and add to frying pan. Fry until brown, turn over and brown other side. Add onions back to pan. Reduce heat to medium and cook 3 to 5 minutes longer. Remove liver and onions from pan. Add 1 cup of the seasoned flour to pan and make a roux. Add water or milk to make a gravy. Serve with mashed potatoes.
