1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 (4-oz.) bar sweet baking chocolate (German), melted and cooled
3 t. vanilla extract



Chocolate Glaze:
1 4-oz. bar sweet baking chocolate (German)
1 T. butter
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
3 T. hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter: gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, soda, and salt; mix well. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Sir in chocolate and flavorings, mixing well. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch Bundt pan. Bake at 300º for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cool in pan 10-15 minutes; invert onto a serving plate. Spoon chocolate glaze over top of warm cake. Cool before serving.

To make glaze, melt chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler over boiling water. Add sugar and hot water, beating well.
