Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 c. Karo or King's syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. flour
1/4 t. salt
1/2 stick butter, melted and cooled
1 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1 unbaked pie shell
whole pecans for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs slightly; beat in syrup. Add sugar mixed with flour and salt. Add butter, chopped nuts and vanilla. Pour into 8 or 9 inch pie pan. Place whole pecans around the outside edge of the pie. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes; then turn to 325º for 25-30 minutes or until tester in center comes out clean. To prevent the outside crust and pecans from getting too dark, you can make a collar of aluminum foil to cover them.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
A lot of my recipes came from family or good friends. This one came from a good friend who always brought her pecan pies to church "dinner on the grounds". If you wanted a piece of Loraine's pie you had to try to be close to the front of the line! (For 2 pies, use 1 bottle Karo).
