1 c. butter (2 sticks)
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 pt. whipping cream (1 cup)
1½ t. vanilla
1 t. lemon or almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour and cream alternately - flour first, cream last. Add flavorings. Put in greased and floured tube pan. Put pan in COLD OVEN. Set oven to bake at 325º (not pre-heat). Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool at least 10 minutes before removing from pan.

If using black pan, set oven to 310º.

This was originally Grandma Skeen's recipe. She made lots of pound cakes for her kids and grandkids. Now Mom Maw is carrying on the tradition. This is a family favorite. Butter a slice and toast in oven for a yummy breakfast.
