¼ c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Use a large heavy duty pot, I use a sixteen quart pot.

Place ketsup, Crisco oil, minced onion, chili sauce, hot sauce, vinegar, chopped garlic,
Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, Karo Syrup, ground ginger, ground mustard, salt, pepper, and water in pot. Stir well.

Do Not put the Chili Powder in sauce until it has cooked for about 2 hours. Then add chili powder and stir it well. Cook for another hour to an hour and a half, until it thickens like barbecue sauce.

Store in glass jars in refrigerator for several weeks. Use it on all kinds of meat -venison, steak, chicken, and hamburgers, basting meat as you would when barbecuing.

Personal Notes:
This is Ken's Mom's recipe. We love it. I learned how to make it when she came to our house and made it with me. She never measured anything, so I had to have her put the dry ingredients in her hand and then I would put it into either measuring spoons or cups to determine the right amount of each ingredient. She was such a patient Mom with me. She taught me a lot! I was so blessed to have her for a mother.

I hope that if you make this sauce you enjoy it as much as her three son's and daughters-in-law did. Thanks Mom Finch.
