1 28 oz can Whole peeled tomato
1 15 oz can Tomato sauce
4 teaspoons sun-dried tomatoes, oil-packed,julienne cut
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic power
1/2 teaspoon onion power
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 cup water

Place a medium saucepan over medium-low heat and add all the INGREDIENTS. Cook for about 15 minutes (making sure that you break up the whole tomato) at a medium simmer.

Remove the soup from the heat and cool slightly, about 5 minutes. Purée the soup directly in the saucepan using an immersion blender, or use a countertop blender, carefully puréeing the soup in a couple of batches until smooth.

Return the soup to the burner over low heat, then taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt or pepper as needed. Serve in warmed bowls, as is or topped with the garnishes of your choice.
