200g of flour 4 tsp of baking powder 65g sugar 50g of butter 65g of raisins 1 egg 150 ml of buttermilk
Preheat oven to 400F. Sieve flour, baking powder, and sugar in a large bowl. Rub in butter until it resembles breadcrumbs then add raisins and mix. In a separate bowl, beat together buttermilk and egg and add to flour mixture but keep some for glaze. Put the dough on a floured surface. Roll and cut out scones to 1” thickness. Place on greased baking sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes.
