1 pkg. yeast
½ cup lukewarm water
4 cups flour
1 cup shortening
3 T. sugar
1 t. salt
3 eggs
1 cup lukewarm milk

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in ½ cup water. In a large bowl put flour, shortening, salt and sugar. Mix as you do for pie crust. Beat eggs, add to warm milk and yeast, then to flour mixture. Beat well – cover and place in refrigerator overnight.

Shape (12 rolls) – (put in greased pan) let raise 2 hours – bake in 375-degree oven. (12-15 min.)

My mom gave this recipe to me. It was in my grandma's handwriting. She was famous for her knot shaped dinner rolls, but I'm not sure if this is the recipe. I have not made these yet. I feel like I'm missing some vital information.

(I suspect she greased her pans with bacon grease.)
