2 ¾ c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 c. salted butter, softened (2 sticks)
1½ c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1½ tsp. real Watkins vanilla
½ c. granulated sugar for rolling cookies

Preheat oven to 350º.

Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Put ½ cup granulated sugar in small bowl and set aside.

Using a mixer, beat together the butter and sugar until smooth and very fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until combined.

Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll in small bowl of sugar. Place on lined cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Press cookie dough down with small glass/cup.

Bake 7-8 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Let stand on cookie sheet 5 minutes before moving to cooling rack. ©
