2/3 cup butter at room temperature
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, divided
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt
1 ½ cups flour
¾ cup finely chopped nuts
1/3 cup jam

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. In large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks, vanilla and salt. Gradually stir in flour. Form dough into balls (1” diameter), dip in lightly beaten egg whites then roll in nuts. Place one inch apart on cookie sheets. Press down center of each with thumb and drop 1/2 tsp. jam in center. Bake for 16-18 minutes or until golden brown.
