1 onion, chopped
4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2-1 bell pepper, chopped
1/4 c. olive oil
1 lb. ground chuck
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 can water
1 T. sugar
1 t. salt
1 t. black pepper
1 T. oregano
1 t. cumin
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
3-4 bay leaves
1 c. pimiento stuffed olives
1/2 c. raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté onions, garlic and bell pepper in oil for 5 minutes. Add meat and cook until no longer pink. Add all except olives and raisins. Simmer 15 minutes; add olives and raisins. Continue simmering another 15 minutes. It is supposed to have some runny sauce. Serve over rice.

This is another old Key West Conch recipe. I don't add the raisins, but the Columbia Restaurant does and it is delicious.
