½ c egg whites (4 eggs)
¼ tsp cream of tarter
2 tbsp sugar
2 egg yolks
⅛ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp sugar
1¼ cups sifted cake flour
1½ tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites to foam, add cream of tarter and add gradually add sugar. Continue beating until very stiff. Beat egg yolk, salt and vanilla until light. Gradually add sugar, beating until thick. Fold egg yolk mixture into egg white mixture, then fold in flour sifted with baking powder. Fill press and form fingers on greased cookie sheet. Bake 450ºF. Sift icing sugar over fingers as soon as baked. Remove from sheet.
