1 1/2 cups of cornmeal
1/2 cup of flour
1 tsp. of salt
1 tbsp. of sugar
1 egg
1 onion finely chopped
3/4 cup of buttermlk

Directions:
Directions:
Prep 5 minutes before you are going to cook them.

Mix all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.

Heat up oil in a frying pan and drop mixture into the hot oil by the tablespoon.

Lightly brown on one side, then flip over and brown the other side. When ready, pull out and drain on a paper towel to get rid of excess oil.

The batter is very dry. Half the recipe if you would like less.
