20 oz. can sliced apples
1 stick butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 lb. grated Velveeta cheese
3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Put apples in a greased 2 qt. baking dish. Cream butter and sugar. Stir in rest of ingredients. Spread over apples. Bake at 375º for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Shirley's notes: This is really good as a side dish or dessert. You can also add 1/2-3/4 c. of chopped nuts for extra crunch. This is a recipe a church friend gave me about 40 years ago.

The reason for "Appley"-Cheese is years ago when I typed the recipe, I mistakenly put a "y" at the end of apple and my girls started calling it "appley" and it stuck.

Janet's note: You can also use fresh apples that you slice and cook a bit. And it turns out great with GF Flour Blend.
