1/4 cup onion (minced)
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon dry mustard
Fresh ground pepper (to taste)
Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions:

Mince Onion and Water into a Puree

Saute mixture in hot oil until softened

Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 12 to 15 Minutes.

Let cool before using it.

Keeps in refrigerator for 1 week.
