Ingredients: Sweet & Sour Sauce 1 cup water 1 cup ketchup 1 tsp salt 1 T Worcestershire sauce ¼ cup vinegar ½ cup brown sugar, packed garlic slat cornstarch to thicken
Meatballs 1 lb lean ground beef ½ cup bread crumbs 1 egg ¼ cup milk S & P

Directions:Meatballs: Mix meatball ingredients & shape into 1" balls. Freeze
Sweet & Sour Sauce: Combine sauce ingredients in a pot (EXCEPT cornstarch) & cook until well blended
Thicken Sauce: Take out ½ cup sauce and add 4 T cornstarch (1 T AT A TIME) until you have a nice paste. Gradually add paste back to sauce stirring constantly while adding back
Take FROZEN meatballs and fry in a skillet until just browned on the outside...Once all meatballs have been browned put in a casserole dish and pour sauce over
Bake @ 350º for 30 minutes
This recipe gives you approx. 3 1/2 dozen meatballs...and a nice amount of extra sauce to have with rice. **See next page for potluck quantities. |

Notes: When I use the below quantities it gives you what you need to bring for potlucks...
I usually cook the larger quantities in the oven for approx. 40-45 minutes then I put the meatballs in the crockpot with enough sauce to cover.
Meatballs - 50 2 x the sauce recipe 2 x sauce thickening recipe
Meatballs - 100 4 x the sauce recipe 4 x sauce thickening recipe
Meatballs - 200 6 x the sauce recipe 6 x sauce thickening recipe
***there is often sauce left over that doesn't fit in the crockpot
