1 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon salt
Rounded 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat, and whisk until smooth.
2. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
