3/4 cup Shortening, liquid (part butter or margarine, softened)
1 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
Sprinkles and Sugar for on top, sprinkles can be mixed into dough

Directions:

1. Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.

2. Heat oven to 400º. Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on slightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly brown.

*Notes*
If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt. See picture for additional notes.
