2 ¼ c. cake flour
1 ¼ c. sugar
2 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
⅛ tsp cloves
1 ¼ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
½ c. shortening
1 ½ c mashed ripe banana's (4-5)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven 375°. Sift together all dry ingredients in 2 quart mixing bowl. then add shortening, 1/2 cup banana's, and eggs. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Scrape bowl constantly. Add remaining banana's & vanilla. Beat 1 minute longer.

Pour into 9x13 or (2) 9" layer pans.

Bake until done. 20-25 min

Cool 5 minutes in pan.

Frost with vanilla butter frosting (Betty Crocker cookbook)
