1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 oz)
8 large eggs
2 C half-and-half
1 C milk
2 T granulated sugar
1 t vanilla extract
¼ t ground cinnamon
¼ t ground nutmeg
maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Slice french bread into one inch cubes.
Place in a generously sprayed 9 x 13 in flat baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly.
Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture.
Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
Before baking randomly fold in frozen or fresh fruit (blueberries, etc.).
The next day, preheat oven to 350ºF.
Bake uncovered at 350 for 40 minutes or so.
Serve with maple syrup.
