1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup melted shortening or oil
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Sift 1 cup flour, 1 cup cornmeal flour, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 cup sugar together.

Mix 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk. Combine mixture just enough to dampen flour. Fill muffin pans.

Bake for 20-25 minutes.
