Sweet Dough

1 Cup warm Whole Milk
2 ½ tsp (1 package) Rapid Rise Dry Yeast
4 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp salt
1 large egg (gently whisked)
⅓ Cup butter - melted
4 Cups Flour

Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Set aside until foamy ~ 15 minutes.
Combine sugar, salt, egg, butter and yeasty milk.
Slowly add in flour, one cup at a time until dough forms. A stand mixer with dough hook is helpful but not necessary. If working by hand knead until smooth and velvety soft.
Put in large, buttered bowl, coat with cooking spray or butter and cover with damp cloth.
Let rise in warm place until double in size, ~ 1 hour.
Once risen, punch down and roll into a 20" x 12" rectangle.
 

Cinnamon Filling

3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
3 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
1/3 Cup melted Butter

Apple Maple Filling

2 Medium baking Apples
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 Cup Walnuts (optional)

Peel, core and chop apples. Simmer until soft. Mix in Maple Syrup and Walnuts, if using.
 

Glaze

1/2 Cup Butter, softened
4 oz. (1/3 cup) cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar

Pulling it all together

Brush dough with melted butter.
Combine Cinnamon mixture. Spread evenly over dough.
Dollop Apple mixture over dough. Spread evenly.
Tightly roll dough, lengthwise. Trim ends. Cut into 12 even slices ~ 1 1/2" each.
Place in covered baking dish. Rise until double ~ 30 minutes.

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Bake Rolls 20 - 25 minutes, until golden brown.

While baking, make glaze.
Mix butter, cream cheese, vanilla and milk, blending well. Add powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, until smooth.
Pour over fresh baked cinnamon rolls.
