9 ounce bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 sticks unsalted butter, cut into 1 inch chunks
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Butter a 13 by 9 inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.

In a microwave safe bowl, mix together the 9 ounces of chopped chocolate and 2 sticks of unsalted butter. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir to combine. Microwave in 30 minute increments, stirring in between increments until all the chocolate is melted. Add the 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the chocolate and stir to combine.

Add 4 large eggs, stirring until incorporated, and then stir vigorously for another 30 seconds. Add the 1 cup of flour and stir just until combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth into an even layer. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the brownies puff up a bit and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Let the brownies cool in the pan to room temperature, then refrigerate in the pan until they are firm.

Use the parchment paper to lift the brownies out of the pan onto a cutting board. Cut into 24 large or 32 small squares. Lift each brownie off the parchment paper and transfer to a serving plate.
