5 tablespoons all purpose flour (sifted)
1 cup whole milk
1 cup confectioner sugar
3/4 cup Crisco
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sifted flour and milk. On medium heat, cook until thick, stirring frequently. Cool.

Make this ahead of time and cool, covered in refrigerator.

In an electric mixture, combine 1 cup sifted powdered sugar,
3/4 cup Crisco (no substitute) and
1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Add the cooked flour mixture from refrigerator to the Crisco mixture. Beat on high speed until very smooth.

Refrigerate icing.
