1 cake yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 cup milk
4 tbsp shortening
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg white
3 1/2 cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Follow standard bread recipe, adding egg white before the flour. When light shape into sticks the size of a pencil
Place far apart on greased baking sheet. Let rise until light. Place in hot oven (400F) + reduce temperature to moderate (325F) Bake until dry + crisp. Makes 18

If desired brush rolls with egg white before baking + sprinkle with coarse salt or poppy seed
