3 cans crushed tomatoes or 12-15 fresh tomatoes (peeled, chopped and blended)
4 cloves garlic
4 T. dried basil
1½ tsp. black pepper
1-2 T. sugar
2 tsp. olive oil
⅓ cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the olive oil on medium heat. Add chopped and pressed garlic. Heat for 1-2 minutes, add all tomatoes, black pepper, basil and sugar, stir often; bring to a low boil. Reduce heat to low, simmer 2-3 hours, stir often. For first hour of simmer time, do so with the pot uncovered, then cover for the last hour of simmer time. Add cheese, stir in and simmer for 5 more minutes. Enjoy!
