2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 egg whites
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cook together sugar, syrup and water until temperature of 248 F is reached.
2. Beat egg whites with Dover beater (it’s a cutting-edge, vintage hand-crank whisk – like your electric whisk) until stiff.
3. Add syrup slowly, beating constantly (a wire whisk makes the beating easier when it begins to stiffen).
