1 cup butter (at room temperature)
2-1/2 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups quick oats
1 - 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp butter
1-1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped, toasted walnuts or pecans

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. Spray a 9" 13" pan lightly with cooking spray.

Beat together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and oats, stir into butter mixture. Press 2/3 of this mixture into the prepared pan, set the rest aside.

Put condensed milk, butter and chocolate chips into a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is completely melted, stir in nuts. Pour evenly over the oat mixture in the pan. Scatter the remaining oatmeal dough in 1/2 tsp pieces over the top of the chocolate mixture evenly, you will have some areas of chocolate showing through.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into squares.

For Peanut Butter Revel Bars add one cup peanut butter with the butter and proceed as shown, leaving out the nuts in the chocolate mixture.
