2 c. granulated sugar
1¾ c. all purpose flour
¾ c. Hershey's Cocoa
1½ tsp. baking powder
1½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
½ c. sour cream
½ c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. boiling water

Directions:

Preheat oven 350ºF. Grease and flour or line with parchment two 9-inch round baking pans.

Combine sugar with flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, sour cream and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer, set to medium speed for two minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in plans for 10 minutes. Remove cakes from pans to rack; cool completely. Frost.

CUPCAKES:
preheat oven to 350ºF. Line 30, 2½-inch muffin cups with paper baking cups. Fill each cup ⅔ of the way full with batter. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Frost.
