1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt


TOPPING:
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Cream together shortening, sugar and brown sugar. Mix in the egg, then the buttermilk and vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients; stir into the creamed mixture. Chill dough for 1 hour. Drop mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of cookie dough. Bake at 400º for 7-9 minutes or until set. Makes approximately 4 dozen.
