1 ½ C sifted powdered sugar
1 C soft a silk cake flour
1 ½ C egg whites (11 or 12 large) Must use real eggs and separate. Save yolks
1 ½ t cream of tarter
1 t vanilla
1 C sugar
¼ t salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together powder sugar and cake flour, repeat sifting twice (ya right).
In a large mixer bowl beat egg whites cream of tarter vanilla and ¼ t salt at medium speed tilll soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar about 2 t at a time continue beating till stiff peaks form.
Sift about ¼ of flour mixture over whites fold in lightly by hand, repeat folding in flour mixture by fourths Turn into an ungreased 10 in tube pan, bake on lowest rack at 350° oven for about 40 minutes or until done. Invert cake in pan, cool completely. Loosen cake from pan and remove.
