2 1/4 cups dried split peas
2 quarts cold water
1 1/2 pounds ham bone
2 onions, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pinch dried marjoram
3 stalks celery, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
3 potatoes, diced

Directions:
Directions:
Cook split peas on medium- medium high with the celery, onion, green onion, carrot, bacon, salt and some parsley in 5 cups of water until tender about 1 1/2 hours. Taste to ensure soup is smooth and peas are cooked.

Remove bacon and puree the soup.
