1 loaf of white bread
1 C butter
1 lb pork sausage (with sage if desired)
4 stalks celery chopped small
1 medium onion chopped small
salt and pepper to taste
Chicken stock

Directions:
Directions:
(All prep can be done night before cooking and stored in refrigerator)
Brown sausage in large fry pan and remove to bowl.
Melt butter in large fry pan.
Add onions and cook over medium heat until translucent.
Add Celery and heat through.
In a large bowl, shred bread into small cubes.
Add sausage to bread and mix thoroughly.
Add a small amount of bread mixture to the fry pan and stir to mix with onion and celery.
Add the onion, celery and bread to the rest of the bread and mix with a spoon.
Add 1 C chicken stock (or water) to bread mixture.

Stuff in turkey or put in greased baking dish and heat at 350º for 30 minutes.

This recipe has been used for at least 75 consecutive years at Thanksgivings!!

Margarine can be substituted for butter in smaller amount to cut calories and cholesterol if desired. It will still taste great!
