1 1/2 cups warm water- divided
1 1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
2 tsp sugar-divided
3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1/2 cup water, yeast and 1 tsp sugar. Stir and cover for 5 mins or until bubbly.
In large mixing bowl of a heavy duty mixer blend flour, salt and remaining sugar and yeast mixture,. Add the remaining 1 cup of water and mix until dough forms a smooth ball that is not too sticky to handle.

Cut the dough in half and shape into baguettes.

Grease baguette pan

Score the loaves down the middle

cover with dish towel and let rise in a warm place about 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450, with a shallow pan of water in the bottom of oven to create steam

Bake for 15 minutes or until hollow sound is made when tapping with a knife
