2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2tsp baking soda
12 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk only
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips (choc. chunks work great too)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325. Heavily grease 9x13 pan or line wiht parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
3. In a seperate bowl, whisk together sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until creamy. Add egg, egg yolk and vanilla, and whisk again until well combined. Genlty fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just mixed. Stir in chocolate chips and fold until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
4. Transfer the thick dough mixture to your baking pan. Use the back of the spatula or hands to press the dough evenly into the pan. Bake for about 23-28 minutes, or unitl the top becomes a light golden brown. For a chewier version, slightly underbake.
5. Remove pan to a wire cooling rack. Once cooled, cut into squares for serving. Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a declicious treat.
