1 c. - butter OR oleo
2 c. - brown sugar
2 - eggs, beaten
1 c. - sour milk OR buttermilk
1 c. - raisins, chopped
½ c. - chopped nuts
4 c. - flour (reserve some for raisins & nuts)
½ tsp. - salt
1 tsp. - nutmeg
1 tsp. - baking soda
3 tsp. - baking powder

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar then add beaten eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Dissolve soda in milk. Mix all – add floured nuts and raisins. Drop from spoon to cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes at 375°.
