3 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Andes Cream De Menthe thins or Wilton Chocolate Mint Candy Melts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Cream in butter. Add gradually sugar, brown sugar, creaming well. Blend in eggs, water, and vanilla. Beat well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Open the mints. Enclose each mint in about a tablespoon of dough, Place on greased cookie sheet and top each cookie with a walnut half. Bake at 375 for about 10 -12 minutes. Delicious!

This was a Pillsbury Award winning recipe in the 1950's. I loved making these. When I was younger, I always made twenty different kinds of Christmas cookies for my Christmas plate.
